The morning the game starts, all pairs will be escorted from their rooms by friendly robot buddies into their own underwater shuttle waiting to take them to the arena. Should anyone try to resist, the collar around their neck will start beeping ominously and their friendly robot escort will become a lot less friendly and a lot more forceful. While in the shuttle, each player will be stripped of whatever clothing or items they have on them. The robot buddies will give each player the following:

- a uniform consisting of a light water-resistant jacket, a t-shirt with the words BLOOD MATCH '15 emblazoned on it, track pants, and standard-issue undergarments. All clothing has been tailored to the player's size perfectly and comes in a classy shade of steel grey.
- a small backpack which holds: three matches, a small canteen with a day's worth of water, and a day's worth of packaged rations
- a digital watch
- a booklet with all the character information cards in it
- a randomly assigned tool

The shuttle ride lasts for around half an hour, docking in a large garage. A friendly robot buddy will then guide each pair into their own elevator and a countdown will begin from 10. Once the countdown hits zero, the elevators will rise and the players will emerge in a shallow bay of what appears to be a volcanic island.

(OOC: Please update your character's info card with the ranking they would have likely received based on observation of their stay at the training facility. Rankings should be between 1-10.

ZONE 0 - SUPPLY HUT

[Only a few hundred meters away from where you emerge in the beach is a large hut. You can immediately see from this distance that there are temptingly large backpacks and supplies surrounding the exterior of the hut. Of course, some of your other competitors are probably eyeing the hut as well....]

[ With one glance to Iceland, Norway takes off for the backpacks. He isn't incredibly speedy, but he is guarded and prepared for attacks. As soon as he can grab onto a backpack, he'll take off with Iceland. ]

[volcanoes]

[Iceland knows he has to stay close to Norway, so that's exactly what he's doing--though he's not as fast as Norway. He's keeping as close eye out for anyone who looks to be approaching them as he can; if they can just get in and out in the confusion of the beginning, that would be best. He trusts Norway, so he doesn't have to focus on the supplies at all and can instead devote all of his attention to watching their backs.

Eventually, though, he can't resist entirely: once Norway has something, Iceland will chance forward to grab the backpack closest to him, as long as it's not too far from Norway and the way back.]

[ Surprisingly, Atsuko and Mayu also head this way. Traversing through the sand and water, she's not the speediest, but she knows the right footholds for staying upright and getting maximum distance out of her steps. Atsuko's entirely focused on grabbing one of the backpacks, leaving the scouting up to her handy pigtailed guard. ]

[Right with Atsuko is Mayu, wielding the baseball bat she's been given as a tool. The plan is to protect her partner while she grabs a backpack. She's not interested in going after people, but if it looks like her partner's in danger, she'll put that bat and her own combat skills to use.]

[Yeah, Bakura's quicker on his feet than you might expect a nerd to be, with Yugi a few feet behind, but after he snatches up the backpack, he lets out a particularly girly shriek at his partner, announcing:]

Yugi, hurry!

[As he takes off again, with Yugi behind. OOPS.]

[ Fuck everything, he's going for it. Without so much of a glance at his partner Kenny's dashing for the supplies. He's small, but he's pretty quick. He'll try to grab a backpack off the edge and then run the fuck out of there again. ]

[Yona doesn't hesitate to head after the backpacks. She has no idea of what to expect, but if it could be useful... She's not looking to hurt anyone, but she's careful of those around her. She's small, so she can move quickly. It doesn't take her long to grab the backpack and take off.]

[As a small white blur races toward the packs, Harriet stays near for backup. Like Mayuyu, she's not starting any fights, but something glints in her hand. She's keeping it at her side so that it's not so easy to see as she runs after him, but she's looking out for any enemies that they could need to defend against.]

Zone 0 -> Zone 1 - ~9:30AM - Zone 0 Beach -> Ocean -> Zone 1 Beach

[The ocean, thankfully, doesn't look too rough to prevent swimming to the mountainous area they're heading to--though it would take more than rough waters to sink Iceland, swimming too far in it certainly would. They have boats for a reason, after all.

But this is easy enough; better on his feet than running will be, he's sure, and the jacket seems water resistant enough. They'll have to check supplies more thoroughly (they'd only done a quick search to grab anything that would be ruined by the water and secure it more carefully), and once they know what they have they can work from there, but Iceland's probably skipping ahead a little with the way his blood is pounding through his veins.

On the shore, he doesn't even stop to dry off before he continues the trek; the beach is pretty exposed, so of course they're not staying there.]

[He's near Kenny, but Craig isn't looking out for him just yet, because he's too intent on grabbing one of those backpacks. He'll be shoving, punching, kicking, maybe even biting anyone who gets in his way. Anyone meaning anyone. Craig fights dirty.]

[ Two idiots are now in Zone 0, too. Sougo has strapped his machete on his back by tearing a part of the robes they wore at the suites. ]

Now, to just find Colonel Sanders.

[ That was a Higurashi reference for the unaware.

And he is indeed trying to find him. He's holding a walkie talkie with one hand as he peruses the area. ]

This is Katpiss from team Peeniss. Did you find the Colonel yet? Over.

Oi, I'm standing right next to you. Is this really necessary? Pita over.

[Hijikata is indeed right next to him. But he seems pre-occupied by something else at the moment.]

More importantly, what's with that team name?

[ I lied he tore part of his jacket for the machete and not the robes. ]

What else are we going to use the walkie-talkies for? Over.

[Guess who's out here in the gross, arid desert? IT'S TWEEDLE DEE AND TWEEDLE DUM. Jack's got Mayu on his back like a human backpack while Mayu is carrying their small standard-issued backpacks it's backpackception...

They're taking their time to get through the rough terrain, breaking frequently and keeping somewhat sheltered to stay out of the open. While they're both keeping on guard, neither of them seem poised to attack, and anyone who approaches in a friendly way will be met in kind! They also seem to be keeping an eye out for something or someone, but the overall hostility remains low.]

[Mayu has one hand over her eyes to act as a visor from the sun, and that makes her the dedicated lookout to Jack's packmule. Poor, unfortunate Jack...]

I don't understand... [She peers around and then twists a little to look back the way they came, then straightens back out and tilts her head up to look at the sky.] I thought most islands had people living on them. But it seems like it's just all of us.

Zone 0 to Zone 1 - 9:10 am - Tunnels

[The supplies would be essential to pick and hoard--life saving, even.

Tokaku decides to pick them off other people, instead, whipping around to clasp a decisive hand around Yona's wrist, one tug to remind her of their agreement before sprinting northward towards the tunnels. Away from everyone else. There will be time later for everyone else.]

[At least they have a system... sort of...... #an effort was made.]

Hm? It's not too surprising! After all, if people were living here, there's no guarantee that they wouldn't get involved, right? Or that their things wouldn't get involved, if they were evacuated.

So you think this place was completely uninhabited before the people doing this show came here?

[Who's to say the place won't get rediscovered mid-game... that would be weird. Suddenly a shipwreck on the volcanic island.] I wonder where this place is on a map...

It's one possibility! [Or they may have just kicked the previous inhabitants off and/or murdered them, since they seem very fond of murder and all...]

But that's a good question. We don't even know what world we're in, do we?
