When you first wake up in your room, an announcement will play on the television.

You’ll be spending your first week before the game officially starts at a vast facility that has been completely submerged underwater. This facility consists of a central hub surrounded by four smaller spherical buildings. You can get to each subsection by either taking a shuttle or walking across a long glass tunnel.

There's not a whole lot we can do besides wait and find out.

[Or be busybodies and just run around to pester everyone.]

[Haruhi bangs her spoon on the table. Confirmed for greatest tragedy.]

You draw numbered sticks and one of them is the King. Then the King gives out orders to the others, like, "number two has to kiss number four" or "number three has to get in a cheerleader pyramid with number one and number five".

I've never heard of it.

[But it sounds like something trainees might play in their spare time or something.]

[At this point Haruhi gets sad and starts eating again. She wishes she could play anything with the rest of those people, but if this situation is real...]

I usually don't have time for games.

[Or much interest really, but she probably shouldn't say that.]

[Haruhi just assumes Mayu's also in high school and she understands that clubs can eat up your whole life in Japan]

Not your group. But I love idols! If you perform anything here I'd be happy to be one of your backup dancers.

[A pause, she has to think about that for a moment. 0048 is a lot harder to get into than most realize. Not only are there strict dancing and singing lessons, but full combat training. Both hand to hand, and in weapons.]
