When you first wake up in your room, an announcement will play on the television.

You’ll be spending your first week before the game officially starts at a vast facility that has been completely submerged underwater. This facility consists of a central hub surrounded by four smaller spherical buildings. You can get to each subsection by either taking a shuttle or walking across a long glass tunnel.

Oh...

[Mayu isn't entirely certain what to say to that, and it shows on her face. It's easy to say, "Now that that's over and done with you should dance for yourself instead of for that person," but considering they've only just met it wouldn't really mean anything.]

Umm... I think I would rather stay here and watch the others. Besides, that way you won't be alone.

[Yona doesn't intend to let it continue bothering her. Not when she has someone thoughtful enough to stay with her. In a way, that cheers her up all by itself.]

I'd like that.

[And it meant they'd have more time to get to know each other.]

So did you come here with someone important to you?

Then, I'll stay.

[Mayu knows better than almost anyone how crushingly awful it can feel to be alone, especially when there are a lot of other people around who aren't alone. It can't hurt to try and be supportive before they're in the arena.]

My most important person is still safe at home... I'd like to keep it that way. [If anyone takes Mio from her there will be hell to pay.] But, I came here with someone I met not too long ago. Did you come with a friend?

I'm glad to hear that. It's the same for me. I mean... we go to the same school, but I hadn't really spoken with her before we came here.

[Her friends were safe at home too, and honestly, she preferred it that way, even if it was a little selfish of her.]

You'll... have the chance to get to know her better, now. That might also be a good thing, if she becomes a friend through all of this.

[Provided one or both of them don't, y'know, end up dead.]

That's right... I think it would be nice if we could become friends.

[Right now she doesn't even want to think about the possibility of certain people dying. No matter who it was that died, she was sure that she'd feel sad when that time came; stranger or not.]

I think in a situation like this it's even more important to try and make friends. It's too sad otherwise.

[Even if that person betrayed her later... she'd rather have spent the time she had enjoying the company she had. It was probably a weird way to look at things, but she couldn't help it. The truth was that the chances of dying were great so... she wanted to enjoy this time as much as she could.]

[About it being sad, that is. Mayu's not sure if it's going to be possible to make friends with everyone here, but she's sure that kind people would be saddened by being unable to form friendships in this place.

She is quiet for a moment or two, before humming.]
