When you first wake up in your room, an announcement will play on the television.

You’ll be spending your first week before the game officially starts at a vast facility that has been completely submerged underwater. This facility consists of a central hub surrounded by four smaller spherical buildings. You can get to each subsection by either taking a shuttle or walking across a long glass tunnel.

[Harriet does like to swim so she agreed to the idea, but what she hadn't considered was that after the dramatically different lifestyle she's been (not) enjoying ever since her long line of temporal shenanigans, the way she looks in a swimsuit is a bit different now than she expected and she's suddenly put off by it as she catches her reflection in a different angle.]

Well this may actually hurt my ranking, [she jokes self deprecatingly to the woman in the mirror after a half turn. But, eh, she's not going to let it ruin her fun, heading into the pool after a moment's hesitation. ... is Harriet seriously the only one here that's not a teenager though? That's kind of awkward too! But at least she looks the part, with her short stature.

Haruhi though. What is with that jump?! Harriet dodges the splash, then blinks when she comes up unscathed.]

Nicely done. You didn't hit your bum?

Chin up. Right now I wish I could be uncute like you. We need to stick it to them in every way possible!

[Reaching from behind, she draws herself up to spread her arms out on the edge of the pool. Her legs pull over a pool noodle and entangle with it underneath the water's surface. This exposes her knees to the air, and it seems she took the brunt of the impact on her shins - there are light scratches that Haruhi has shrugged off.]

Reality TV is so weird. I don't get how it can be popular enough for something like this to have funding. [This is because Haruhi is from the nineties in her AU. In the present day she would understand, as much as she'd resent it]

Oh, well, brilliant - I'll just go eat some cake when we're done, that'll show em'.

[Haruhi ignored her mild concern despite the scratches on her legs... well, whatever. It's none of her concern. Harriet's from the late 90s-early 2000s too though, so she can only shrug in response to reality TV.]

This section of the macrocosm clearly has godawful taste. I don't know what I expected.

The robots definitely do cake! [Haruhi sees no flaws with this plan and pedals with her free-floating legs happily. Then again, maybe she just doesn't have much experience with the endless onslaught of British sarcasm.]

I don't really get macrocosm, though, sorry. Is that like a multiverse or what?

[yes, she's starting to get that notion, so she'll just ignore that bit about the robots...]

That's right. It actually means the entirety of a complex structure - especially when referring to the whole universe. But in this case, it means the great multiverse instead, since our universes would be a microcosm of the multiverse.

So is the macrocosm... a system of multiverses? Or just of universes? I mean, I guess accepting multiverse theory means that cohesive categorizations of universes can be taken as one of the larger universes.
