week 0 - training facility

When you first wake up in your room, an announcement will play on the television.
You’ll be spending your first week before the game officially starts at a vast facility that has been completely submerged underwater. This facility consists of a central hub surrounded by four smaller spherical buildings. You can get to each subsection by either taking a shuttle or walking across a long glass tunnel.

When she spots the girl struggling with the shelter though, she steps in. Survival skills were well, necessary to survive.]
Do you need a hand?
no subject
[She's wasn't too eager to start all over again when that was the result of all her hard work. But with a helping hand, she might just be able to do it... and correctly.]
Have you ever done anything like this before?
[After all, it was hard to say what kind of experiences other had before coming here.]

[It's really not a huge deal. She just figured she'd be nice and give the poor girl a hand and keep her spirits up. Well, hopefully it'd work out that way.]
Not exactly, but I can point out flaws in your designs and offer simple fixes.

[It doesn't take much to take the whole thing apart. That might not exactly be a bad thing in this case, but it's still a little sad.]
Okay. Now we can try it again.

[Now that she thinks about it, maybe decoy shelters would be better than actual shelters if this 'game' was true to its word.
Anyway, Mayu starts lining up a few supports, using a provided knife to cut a few notches into the wood.]
You might not be able to build this exactly, depending on the situation, but you don't want your shelter falling in on you.

[And she does watch attentively. There are a few skills she might be able to pick up. Instead of doing anything where she might be in the way, she instead settles for making sure to follow Mayu's lead, handing her whatever materials she needs.]
Mm... it's hard to say what we'll have to work with. But it's better to be prepared for anything.
[She'd probably have plenty of time to think about how she could improvise when that time came.]
no subject
[Mayu wouldn't be pleased if she tried to help for nothing. She nods at the girl's statement.]
Exactly. This will at least give you an idea of what you need to do.
[She focuses a bit, gauging the size of some of the materials as she pieces together the basic framework of a sort of lean-to, although on a small 'floor' made of wood to keep off the ground.]
If you have questions, go ahead and ask.

[Internally she's making notes.]
Oh, but... I should help. What should I do?
[Maybe the roof? Yona starts going through the materials she has set out and organizes them a little better. Maybe part of her problem had been the types of materials she used in different places. Maybe she should get an opinion.]
What would you use to cover it?
no subject
[What should she do besides watch? Mayu hadn't thought of that. She figured the other girl could just take notes or something.]
It varies from location to location, but a crosswork of branches covered with leaves will work for a shelter, unless there's severe rainfall.
