28 players remaining
The morning the game starts, all pairs will be escorted from their rooms by friendly robot buddies into their own underwater shuttle waiting to take them to the arena. Should anyone try to resist, the collar around their neck will start beeping ominously and their friendly robot escort will become a lot less friendly and a lot more forceful. While in the shuttle, each player will be stripped of whatever clothing or items they have on them. The robot buddies will give each player the following:- a uniform consisting of a light water-resistant jacket, a t-shirt with the words BLOOD MATCH '15 emblazoned on it, track pants, and standard-issue undergarments. All clothing has been tailored to the player's size perfectly and comes in a classy shade of steel grey.
- a small backpack which holds: three matches, a small canteen with a day's worth of water, and a day's worth of packaged rations
- a digital watch
- a booklet with all the character information cards in it
- a randomly assigned tool
The shuttle ride lasts for around half an hour, docking in a large garage. A friendly robot buddy will then guide each pair into their own elevator and a countdown will begin from 10. Once the countdown hits zero, the elevators will rise and the players will emerge in a shallow bay of what appears to be a volcanic island.
(OOC: Please update your character's info card with the ranking they would have likely received based on observation of their stay at the training facility. Rankings should be between 1-10.
Also, when starting a thread, please put in your header the following: ZONE # - TIME - AREA. This will hopefully make it easier for everyone to keep track of which character is where.)Setting

But this is easy enough; better on his feet than running will be, he's sure, and the jacket seems water resistant enough. They'll have to check supplies more thoroughly (they'd only done a quick search to grab anything that would be ruined by the water and secure it more carefully), and once they know what they have they can work from there, but Iceland's probably skipping ahead a little with the way his blood is pounding through his veins.
On the shore, he doesn't even stop to dry off before he continues the trek; the beach is pretty exposed, so of course they're not staying there.]

Once they arrive in the shade of a few mountains, he stops and drops the two backpacks he has, the small and the large. ] Let's see.

Matches [which he'd secured earlier for the trip across the water] a canteen-- [which he pauses to shake. There's water inside, which is good.] food, a compass, and this book.
[He opens it up. Looks like it has information on the other players. Basic, but there's a bit of a spark in his eyes. Memorizing information is something he can do.]

He opens up the larger backpack and takes out one of the flash grenades ] Ah... It stuns people. [ Digging a little deeper: ] And food.

[That's a little exciting. One for each of them, though Iceland doesn't really want to get that close to anyone. It's better than no weapons at all. He holds them up for Norway to inspect.]

After putting the backpacks back on, he starts walking again. ] We'll hafta hike.

What do you need both for? [He scrambles to get his own backpacks and follow Norway.]

It looks cooler if I use two. [ Which is not at all a real answer, but he doesn't feel the need to explain that Iceland shouldn't use one. ]

He was very small.
He isn't actually sure how well-aimed that was; he might have just nicked them.]
