28 players remaining
The morning the game starts, all pairs will be escorted from their rooms by friendly robot buddies into their own underwater shuttle waiting to take them to the arena. Should anyone try to resist, the collar around their neck will start beeping ominously and their friendly robot escort will become a lot less friendly and a lot more forceful. While in the shuttle, each player will be stripped of whatever clothing or items they have on them. The robot buddies will give each player the following:- a uniform consisting of a light water-resistant jacket, a t-shirt with the words BLOOD MATCH '15 emblazoned on it, track pants, and standard-issue undergarments. All clothing has been tailored to the player's size perfectly and comes in a classy shade of steel grey.
- a small backpack which holds: three matches, a small canteen with a day's worth of water, and a day's worth of packaged rations
- a digital watch
- a booklet with all the character information cards in it
- a randomly assigned tool
The shuttle ride lasts for around half an hour, docking in a large garage. A friendly robot buddy will then guide each pair into their own elevator and a countdown will begin from 10. Once the countdown hits zero, the elevators will rise and the players will emerge in a shallow bay of what appears to be a volcanic island.
(OOC: Please update your character's info card with the ranking they would have likely received based on observation of their stay at the training facility. Rankings should be between 1-10.
Also, when starting a thread, please put in your header the following: ZONE # - TIME - AREA. This will hopefully make it easier for everyone to keep track of which character is where.)Setting

[Jack seems to know him better - just judging from the interaction they'd briefly had before - so she looks at him to see his reaction to that. Kyouya brings up a great point about Saitou and Okita, and Mayu nods.]
Okita-san seems like the type to laugh as he kills. [Mayu knows all about that. Seriously.]

I like all three of them! [Which is probably aLL THE WARNING ANYONE NEEDS... And of course, he follows that cheerful declaration up with something more pragmatic.]
I'd say we should deal with them quickly before they can build up a stockpile of weapons, but I don't think they'll really need anything fancy. [Then, holding a hand up in an explanatory gesture:] Saitou seems like the most straight-forward and I bet he'd be the least likely to go out of his way to kill, but he's just as dangerous as the other two.

[And end up, y'know, committing murder with one of them. That's probably not exactly what Kyouya had in mind...]
But, I agree. The sooner everyone is taken care of, the better...
[She wants to go home to Mio, and fast.]

If that's the case, let's do our best to conserve our energy and prepare. Tomorrow will be a big day!

It's a good thing you didn't run into too much trouble in the end, but emotional stress can wear someone out just as fast.

[He says it a little dismissively, but only because the last thing he wants is for Jack and Mayu to view Tamaki as easy prey. Easier than he must already come across. Kyouya is worried about him, in his own fairly callous way, but keeping them both alive is more important.]
I can't deny he isn't cut out for this, but in his own way he may be our most valuable player. Tamaki has a way of surprising your expectations. [Only a mild exaggeration. It's true generally, but this probably won't be one of those times.]

[Nobody wants to hear that from you, Mayu.]
Kind and gentle, even in a place like this... But she was stronger than she looked, too. I wonder how strong Suoh-san will become here.

Jack glances over since he's probably used to Mayu suddenly waxing poetics about her mystery sibling by now, head canting a little to the side.]
I guess they say that you can always learn what really makes a person when they're put into a difficult situation, right?

He finds this insincere sentimentality kind of an appalling display; it's his one of his own favorite techniques, but he can't help but sneer at it internally. Of course, none of that shows at all.]
Very true. I think we'll find out what many people are made of in the coming days.
I can see why you're so anxious to get home to her. You must care about her a lot.

[This sentiment, at least, is utterly sincere, albeit in a twisted, broken way. Tamaki does remind her of Mio in some ways - that much is also true - but not enough for her to spare him. Even Mio being Mio wasn't enough for Mayu to spare her.]
...I just have to think, "She's waiting for me," and I'll always find the strength to keep going.

That's pretty impressive! She's lucky to have such a dedicated sister.

Agreed. What about you, Jack? Do you have family waiting for you?
