The morning begins as another hot and muggy day on the island, though there's a little more of a breeze, and as a result, the weather is slightly more pleasant. It's a calm day out on the seas, too, though there are a few clouds gathering in the skies. This morning, the birds in the jungle are chirping loudly.
As the sun rises, an announcement plays:
Good morning, contestants! You must now switch zones from where you were last night. You won't be allowed back into that zone until you hear from me again. Don't test the rules, or you might regret it!
Now, today will be a special day. There will be fun surprises all day long, so stay alert!
True to these words, throughout the day, you'll notice a number of dangerous situations seem to occur roughly every few hours, though trying to time your watch to it won't work perfectly. Still, you can expect the following throughout the day:10 AM: An earthquake! The earthquake lasts about five minutes, and rumbling aftershocks take place throughout the hour. You might want to avoid anywhere rocks or trees could fall, and to try and avoid inside spaces, caves, or other shelters that could collapse. You might also want to avoid the beaches and seek higher ground, as dangerous waves crash onto the shore.
11 AM: Rain. A heavy rainfall will fall throughout the hour; if you're outside in it, you're liable to get soaked, but inside spaces may get flooded. During the rainfall, the waters will be choppy and dangerous.
1 PM: Lightning. In Zone 4, the zone hums with live electricity, sparking small fires and breaking windows. You should try and get away from anything electric. In the other zones, lightning strikes trees and sparks jungle fires. In Zone 3, the swamps become particularly toxic, and panicking animals are likely to attack.
3 PM: An aerial attack. Small devices, too far away to really see what they are, are up in the sky, and will drop items. The items may contain poison gas, may contain explosives, may contain food and water. The attacks will take place at random intervals for two hours - when one begins, you had better run and scatter.
6 PM: The volcano on Zone 0 rumbles ominously, and projects smoke into the sky. The smoke is thick, dark, and makes it hard to see and breathe. But nothing else happens. While immediately at this time the smoke is thick and dangerous, it dissipates but never completely leaves.
You can try to hide, run, or fight your way out of these situations. It's very likely that at some point you and your partner or crew will get split up, or have to run for it, but it's up to you where you go and what you do.
(OOC: When starting a thread, please put in your header the following: ZONE # - TIME - AREA. This will hopefully make it easier for everyone to keep track of which character is where.
Please remember to update the Weekly Check-in with your character's planned movements. Check in is due by Monday at 9 PM)Setting

Her eyes widen as a plan starts to take hold. They still had that tank of campfire fuel, and this bridge was wooden--well, if she and Mayuyu could just manage to throw the two of them off for a few seconds, she could uncork it and throw her lighter indescriminately, sending the whole thing ablaze.
For now, though, Atsuko hops up on the rope handrail, nearly running across it towards Jack like a particularly suicidal highwire performer. ]

Even as she's yanked downwards, Mayuyu doesn't release her grip on the bat, rather, Mayu is going to find a fruit hurled at her face. She may not have her standard ammunition, but she'll make do.]

He takes several hopping steps back before diving under the rope that Atsuko is running along. Despite dangerously swinging out over the water's edge, he doesn't fall, but rather grips the planks on his way under and uses them to flip himself back over the rope and onto a part of the bridge behind Atsuko. It takes him a second to free his mace again though, so he's already moving back in case she reacts too quickly and takes another swing.]
now that i've clawed my way out of work hell.. i'm really sorry, guys
It's not wholly successful, since she was expecting a punch and not something being thrown. She hisses with indignation and launches herself at the idol with both arms outstretched, her fingers practically twitching with the desire to get them around her neck. She doesn't bother to try and wipe away the fruit's pulp - it can drip off her face on its own, for all she cares.]
as i lost my paid apparently i also lost trackING NOTIFS THANKS DW
If she could just knock him off balance for a few moments... ]

Which would've worked perfectly had Mayu not launched herself at the idol like that. While not a perfect defense, she's going to try and use her bat as a sort of shield to keep the crazy girl at bay.]

She'll also have to dodge his double mace, which he's swinging in her direction while he works on righting it.]

There is an expression of crazed determination on her face as she tries to get her hands around Mayuyu's neck again and again. Because apparently you can take the need to ritualistically get strangled away from someone, but once you've strangled your own twin, what's a couple more people?? God.]

Mayuyu! Retreat!
[ is all she says to the other girl as she hops back onto the rope railing and tries to book it past Mayu-squared, to their end of the bridge ]

[The idol mutters, trying to prevent those hands from reaching her neck. All she needs is a split moment to be able to get out of there, but her opponent is...pretty relentless. Dodging armored soldiers and mechs is much easier.
However, she doesn't give up. Mayuyu takes the bat with both hands and attempts to slam it into Mayu's forehead, even though it leaves her temporarily defenseless. Should that fail, she's aiming a knee up into her stomach.]

SO PURSUE HE DOES. He'll zip off after Atsuko, reaching for her pack or shoulder with his free hand - anything he can grab hold of to detain her.]
no subject
But it doesn't, and she's left stunned for a moment or two as the bat slams into her forehead. As soon as her head stops spinning, she'll take off in pursuit of her again, but Mayuyu will have a few seconds' head start.]
