28 players remaining
The morning the game starts, all pairs will be escorted from their rooms by friendly robot buddies into their own underwater shuttle waiting to take them to the arena. Should anyone try to resist, the collar around their neck will start beeping ominously and their friendly robot escort will become a lot less friendly and a lot more forceful. While in the shuttle, each player will be stripped of whatever clothing or items they have on them. The robot buddies will give each player the following:- a uniform consisting of a light water-resistant jacket, a t-shirt with the words BLOOD MATCH '15 emblazoned on it, track pants, and standard-issue undergarments. All clothing has been tailored to the player's size perfectly and comes in a classy shade of steel grey.
- a small backpack which holds: three matches, a small canteen with a day's worth of water, and a day's worth of packaged rations
- a digital watch
- a booklet with all the character information cards in it
- a randomly assigned tool
The shuttle ride lasts for around half an hour, docking in a large garage. A friendly robot buddy will then guide each pair into their own elevator and a countdown will begin from 10. Once the countdown hits zero, the elevators will rise and the players will emerge in a shallow bay of what appears to be a volcanic island.
(OOC: Please update your character's info card with the ranking they would have likely received based on observation of their stay at the training facility. Rankings should be between 1-10.
Also, when starting a thread, please put in your header the following: ZONE # - TIME - AREA. This will hopefully make it easier for everyone to keep track of which character is where.)Setting

[So starting early in the morning, maybe? She's not sure about these people's sleep schedule. Speaking of - she looks to Tamaki when he yawns.]
Do you want the bed? I can get up... I already slept.
[Jack's back was comfy.]
no subject
[But since Tamaki looks the sleepiest here (Jack seems pretty wide-awake, all things considered - adrenaline, maybe), he'll stand up from the bed, too.]
Here! If it's too far away from the fire to keep you warm, we can just pile the mattress and blankets on the ground.
no subject
Is that all right? You can wake me up whenever you need...
no subject
By all means, take the first rest and make yourself comfortable so you'll actually get a decent amount. We'll wake you if anyone else needs to sleep.
no subject
[It's hard to commit murder when you're sleep deprived, after all!! So she gets up from the mattress to give him some room to rest, and settles herself down to sit with her back to the wall by the fireplace instead.]
Sleep well... Suoh-san.
[Watch them all wake up in the morning huddled together for warmth.]
no subject
Mmhm! We'll wake you up right away if anything changes, but sleep well in the meantime.
no subject
...You don't need to get up, Mayu. I can just sleep on Kyouya.
no subject
Wrong. Now you're wasting time. Go get yourself to sleep before you waste all of it and make trouble for the rest of us.
Good night, Tamaki.
no subject
And apparently she doesn't see this as even a little bit insulting, because she just turns back to Jack and Kyouya like nothing is wrong as Tamaki settles down to sleep.]
Have the two of you seen anyone other than Jack and me around here since you took the cabin..?
no subject
It does seem like pretty good luck, being able to find and keep a place like this without having to fight for it!
[Which he assumes didn't happen because neither Tamaki or Kyouya look too roughed up and the cabin itself is in decent shape, too.]
no subject
But he does wait and let Tamaki get settled, choosing to take a break to have a bite of food and some canteen water.]
We have had good luck. It seemed everyone ran west, so we chose this way, and haven't seen anyone all day.
What about you? Did you have any run-ins? [With a glance to make sure Tamaki is really asleep.]
no subject
[She says, smiling.]
no subject
Maybe.]
I guess you could say we had some pretty good luck ourselves, depending on how it's viewed. It's a few less people to have to worry about, either way.
no subject
I couldn't agree more.
Who are we now unlikely to run into?
no subject
These three...
no subject
It would be nice if we could meet that number tomorrow, I think. Even experienced survivalists are going to struggle being out here for too long. [And there's the explode-y time limit thing, too.]
no subject
Oh, I agree. Well, I won't interfere with your work. Perhaps tomorrow we'll see what can be done about finding more provisions.
no subject
[She shrugs.] If we don't find them ourselves, all we have to do is find someone who did and take it from them. [And, uh, kill them.]
no subject
It would probably be easier to scavenge on our own, so let's try that and save taking from other people for later. They might have traps set up if they have to put their supplies down or to take out anyone who might kill them for their water or food, right?
[That's sure what Jack would do, anyway... BUT CORPSES ARE CLEARLY BETTER BAIT.]

[She pauses, looking like she's considering something very seriously, and then looks to Jack.]
You and I should each keep one, but do you think it's okay to leave one with Ootori-san and Suoh-san?
no subject
He'll glance over at Mayu once the question is posed, but there's no real hesitation before he nods.]
If it's something the two of you can use, go ahead and take one.
no subject
I'm certain it's obvious, but Tamaki doesn't need to know about the people you've run into. Any spare backpacks we found on the beach.
But yes, I'm sure it's helpful. Ah, and it's not much, but we do have access to a first aid kit. My family are in medicine, so I hope to be of use with it.
Tamaki has some sort of poison, but convincing him to let us use it will take some persuasion.
no subject
[She glances over at Tamaki, a little puzzled.] He'll believe that?
[He's going to have to if he doesn't want to accept the fact that he's keeping company with murderers, Mayu supposes.]
We'll be depending on you, Ootori-san. [He probably can't fix her leg, but the first aid kit should keep their group from having any minor injuries go untreated and turn major.] ...you probably have the best chance of convincing Suoh-san to give up the poison... you know him best of any of us.
[And he's also not crazy.]
no subject
You can pick which one you want. Oh— but that's useful! Even if I'd rather hope we never have to rely on it. [That sure would be nice... #wishful thinking.
As far as poisons go:] It might be better to just let him keep it for now. There's not really a shortage of poisonous things around to use if that's what we decide to do, right?
