blood match day one

game start

28 players remaining

The morning the game starts, all pairs will be escorted from their rooms by friendly robot buddies into their own underwater shuttle waiting to take them to the arena. Should anyone try to resist, the collar around their neck will start beeping ominously and their friendly robot escort will become a lot less friendly and a lot more forceful. While in the shuttle, each player will be stripped of whatever clothing or items they have on them. The robot buddies will give each player the following:
- a uniform consisting of a light water-resistant jacket, a t-shirt with the words BLOOD MATCH '15 emblazoned on it, track pants, and standard-issue undergarments. All clothing has been tailored to the player's size perfectly and comes in a classy shade of steel grey.
- a small backpack which holds: three matches, a small canteen with a day's worth of water, and a day's worth of packaged rations
- a digital watch
- a booklet with all the character information cards in it
- a randomly assigned tool

The shuttle ride lasts for around half an hour, docking in a large garage. A friendly robot buddy will then guide each pair into their own elevator and a countdown will begin from 10. Once the countdown hits zero, the elevators will rise and the players will emerge in a shallow bay of what appears to be a volcanic island.

(OOC: Please update your character's info card with the ranking they would have likely received based on observation of their stay at the training facility. Rankings should be between 1-10.

Also, when starting a thread, please put in your header the following: ZONE # - TIME - AREA. This will hopefully make it easier for everyone to keep track of which character is where.)

That sounds... nice...

[Slightly distressed by Mayu's sleeptalking, to be honest.]
glasshole: (intrigued | ah you're an idiot)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-22 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ignoring Mayu's sleep talking. He already knew you two were crazy.]

Mm...I predict once everyone else gets the lay of the area, the farm will become more dangerous. Where were you today? What's that area like?
onewith: (075)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-22 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[The combination of voices and warmth from the fire is enough to rouse Mayu from her sleep - she stirs and starts to sit up as Jack finishes talking, brings up a hand to rub sleep out of her eyes as Tamaki speaks, and listens quietly as Kyouya questions them about their experiences.]

There are cliffs and mountains... and so many plants it's almost like a jungle. [It is a jungle, Mayu. Let's not mince words.] There's a canyon, and a river... it really feels like wilderness there.
dramatist: (as suspected)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-22 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah yes, crazy nutbar sleeping beauty has rejoined them in the land of the conscious. Jack reaches out to ruffle her hair gently once she's sitting, though his attention largely stays on Tamaki and Kyouya. Tamaki just gets a vaguely apologetic smile...]

We spent most of the day there after we got off of that first island! But there isn't a lot of food and the terrain is rough and a little difficult to navigate through. It's not worth much for survival. [MURDER, ON THE OTHER HAND...]

[personal profile] sparklyrichbastard 2015-03-22 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, that's no good then...

[Tamaki yawns. It's been a long day.]
glasshole: (intrigued | ah you're an idiot)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-22 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we have the western section, difficult to navigate. This section is wide open and rather pleasant, but deceptively so, I think. The sources of food, water, and shelter are limited, so it may become too strategic a position, one that draws competition.

I wonder what we might find to the east?

[He's tired as well, but it feels much too early and too cold to sleep, even near the fire. But still.]

I suppose we ought to take shifts to sleep in.
onewith: (027)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-22 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of people are in the west right now... it would probably be best to look around the east before the others can get there.

[So starting early in the morning, maybe? She's not sure about these people's sleep schedule. Speaking of - she looks to Tamaki when he yawns.]

Do you want the bed? I can get up... I already slept.

[Jack's back was comfy.]
dramatist: (why is everyone in this series a nutbar)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-22 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you want to go tomorrow, then? We can split up and pick different parts to check, and then reconvene.

[But since Tamaki looks the sleepiest here (Jack seems pretty wide-awake, all things considered - adrenaline, maybe), he'll stand up from the bed, too.]

Here! If it's too far away from the fire to keep you warm, we can just pile the mattress and blankets on the ground.

[personal profile] sparklyrichbastard 2015-03-22 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[He looks over at the bed. Boy is that tempting, to just drag it over by the fire and blanket burrito.]

Is that all right? You can wake me up whenever you need...
glasshole: (thinking | how can i profit off this)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-23 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, it won't look good if Tamaki takes the mattress from a girl, but for now it doesn't matter.]

By all means, take the first rest and make yourself comfortable so you'll actually get a decent amount. We'll wake you if anyone else needs to sleep.
onewith: (048)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-23 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay. We'll do better in the morning if all of us are rested.

[It's hard to commit murder when you're sleep deprived, after all!! So she gets up from the mattress to give him some room to rest, and settles herself down to sit with her back to the wall by the fireplace instead.]

Sleep well... Suoh-san.

[Watch them all wake up in the morning huddled together for warmth.]
dramatist: (an elevated existence)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-23 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Standing off to the side of the bed in case Tamaki decides to move it, since he is a delicate flower child and Jack assumes he may need help...]

Mmhm! We'll wake you up right away if anything changes, but sleep well in the meantime.

[personal profile] sparklyrichbastard 2015-03-23 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Glancing between everyone. This is not what he wanted!! Even though it's exactly what he wanted and also makes a lot of sense since he'll be up at the crack of dawn anyway...]

...You don't need to get up, Mayu. I can just sleep on Kyouya.
glasshole: (pleasant | willing to play along for now)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-23 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Mildly shoving away.]

Wrong. Now you're wasting time. Go get yourself to sleep before you waste all of it and make trouble for the rest of us.

Good night, Tamaki.
onewith: (041)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-23 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Ootori-san seems a little too bony to sleep comfortably on, anyway. [Mayu hides a giggle behind one hand. SORRY KYOUYA.

And apparently she doesn't see this as even a little bit insulting, because she just turns back to Jack and Kyouya like nothing is wrong as Tamaki settles down to sleep.]

Have the two of you seen anyone other than Jack and me around here since you took the cabin..?
dramatist: (haha oops)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-23 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[GOOD WORK TEAM. Once Tamaki settles, Jack moves away from the bed to go sit beside Mayu instead.]

It does seem like pretty good luck, being able to find and keep a place like this without having to fight for it!

[Which he assumes didn't happen because neither Tamaki or Kyouya look too roughed up and the cabin itself is in decent shape, too.]
glasshole: (smug | by the way i'm a dick)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-23 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[He's not offended, Mayu. The last vibe he's going for is 'someone to sleep comfortably on.'

But he does wait and let Tamaki get settled, choosing to take a break to have a bite of food and some canteen water.]

We have had good luck. It seemed everyone ran west, so we chose this way, and haven't seen anyone all day.

What about you? Did you have any run-ins? [With a glance to make sure Tamaki is really asleep.]
onewith: (035)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-23 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
We did, but those people won't be a problem anymore.

[She says, smiling.]
dramatist: (wow look at how much i care)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-23 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Jack glances over too, quickly, but doesn't seem to hesitate with his words once he's made sure Tamaki isn't awake to be disturbed. His smile is a little softer, like the whole murder thing had been A Sad Occurrence and he's sorry it had to happen at all.

Maybe.]

I guess you could say we had some pretty good luck ourselves, depending on how it's viewed. It's a few less people to have to worry about, either way.
glasshole: (notebook | (plus interest))

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-23 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
[There's no obvious reaction or change of expression. If he wasn't sure before, he's now confirmed not only Jack but Mayu are creepy motherfuckers. Which is something he is completely fine with, for now at least. He doesn't particularly care about other people or their lives, not when they're standing in his way.]

I couldn't agree more.

Who are we now unlikely to run into?
onewith: (058)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-23 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Mayu reaches into her backpack and pulls out the booklet of information cards. She knew the names of the people they had killed - all three of them had been people she'd either spoken to while training or at the interviews - but she isn't sure that Kyouya will be just as familiar with them, so she flips through the booklet to come to each of their cards.]

These three...
dramatist: (talkin shit)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-23 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Creepy is right; Jack seems to bounce right back up soon enough. There isn't much of a point in pretending he isn't a dang maniac on Murder Island, after all.]

It would be nice if we could meet that number tomorrow, I think. Even experienced survivalists are going to struggle being out here for too long. [And there's the explode-y time limit thing, too.]
glasshole: (pleasant | welcome!)

[personal profile] glasshole 2015-03-23 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He notes the pictures in the card with mild interest. No one too dangerous, then, but...]

Oh, I agree. Well, I won't interfere with your work. Perhaps tomorrow we'll see what can be done about finding more provisions.
onewith: (043)

[personal profile] onewith 2015-03-23 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
They're out there, somewhere. They have to want some of us to survive long enough to make this interesting.

[She shrugs.] If we don't find them ourselves, all we have to do is find someone who did and take it from them. [And, uh, kill them.]
dramatist: (wheatstalks)

[personal profile] dramatist 2015-03-23 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
[LAUGHING gosh Mayu, so ambitious.]

It would probably be easier to scavenge on our own, so let's try that and save taking from other people for later. They might have traps set up if they have to put their supplies down or to take out anyone who might kill them for their water or food, right?

[That's sure what Jack would do, anyway... BUT CORPSES ARE CLEARLY BETTER BAIT.]
